DAPS Records is Toronto family, born of friends sharing bands, making records, staying out in the street. With Hooded Fang at the helm, and layers of undulating projects, the Do It Ourselves ethic of DAPS unifies the label's myriad sound. Nowhere better is this illustrated than on DAPS POP, a compilation record spanning twelve DAPS bands, the breadth of this vast-knit collective, the current future, with 66.6% more unreleased jams . . . 

 

DAPS Records & Hand Drawn Dracula comprise two sides of a Toronto coin, currency widely accepted for the impassioned Do It Ourselves all-styles-all-fidelities music signified by both these labels and a city's burgeoning community (more so than scene, more so than sound). Edmonton's one-time all-time Poet Laureate weaves a torrent of witching hour cautionary tales of forgotten party memories and 5-0 infiltration, over a sparse beat and islands of infectious chorus...

 

Previously only available late-night as a live fan favourite, "Loft Party" appears on the B-side to Cadence Weapon's Scion Sessions 7", fronted with the Hope In Dirt City hit "Conditioning"...

This is the first "official" party for Neighbourhood Watch Music. We are a community focused on local talent whether that be established artists or those coming up. These parties are an opportunity to hear producers' new tunes and their works in progress, to hear live music and collaborations and to (mostly) have fun. 

Scion Sessions is Rollin' with Roland this fall as Cadence Weapon takes his Hope In Dirt City album trans-Canada. The Polaris Short-Listed artist is carrying with him a special edition Scion Sessions 7" vinyl with the HIDC centrepiece "Conditioning" backed by the unreleased show-stopper "Loft Party", freed from the wax for gratuitous download here! ...

On November 6, Teen Daze releases his second full length record, the gorgeous The Inner Mansions (Lefse Records). Expounding on the sonic, spatial, and spiritual insights of his full debut, All Of Us, Together, The Inner Mansions explores deeper and lighter atmospheres by a more literary approach. With this atypically acoustic rendition of "Divided Loyatlies" at Vancouver's Red Cat Records, Teen Daze aimed to unearth a piece of music that, when brought down from the stratospheric heights of his blissful production, will stand the test of the song. The album version, debuted at ISO50, reveals the immeasurable space that this song has traveled from its conception to its release... 

On September 22, 2012, Shout Out Out Out Out & Teen Daze converged on the Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver to mark the release of their very special edition collaboration, a 12" vinyl record comprised of one original from each band, and a swap of well-crafted remixes. OLIO Festival and Glory Days, both Vancouver institutions of the over-enjoyment of music, played host to this momentous occasion...
